Online Database for Better Health at Work

The European Network for Workplace Health Promotion (ENWHP) has developed, in a cooperation with the European Commission, a database that consists of methods and instruments in workplace health promotion (WHP). It provides access to more than 70 tools from 23 European countries and is available for free on the Internet at www.enwhp.org/toolbox/index.php.

By featuring multiple search options and running continuous updates, this toolbox increases knowledge on methods significantly. It therefore simplifies considerably the practical work of experts and decision makers in the fields of human resource management, occupational health and safety, and public health.

WHP is a corporate strategy for better health at the workplace and improved economic success. Together with the development of a European pool of arguments, which justify investments in WHP, the toolbox inventory provides convincing answers to the compelling questions: "Why should enterprises invest in WHP?" and "How should this take place?" The collection of successfully employed methods and tools is therefore to be seen as a key instrument in the overall effort to push ahead changes in attitude in order to further promote health at work all over Europe.
