The 44th annual Meeting of CIS National and Collaborating Centres will take place at ILO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 September 2006. The Meeting will be preceded, on Wednesday 13 September, for those who are interested, by a one-day hands-on training session on the use of information tools in OSH, kindly organized by Ms. Sheila Pantry.

CIS has partnerships with more than 140 CIS Centres in over 100 ILO member States. Once a year, representatives of CIS Centres are invited to participate in an annual meeting to discuss current issues affecting the network, as well as to provide guidance to CIS on how to adapt its activities in order to serve the international occupational safety and health community better. The meeting provides a platform for the exchange of information on hot OSH issues and for deciding on future actions, and it offers an opportunity to introduce new CIS products and new technologies for searching and disseminating information.

Last year, the meeting was held on 18 September in Orlando, Florida, USA, in conjunction with the XVIIth World Congress on Safety and Health at Work, organized jointly by the ILO and ISSA. Click here to access the report of the 2005 CIS Meeting.
