In connection with Occupational Safety and Health Month in Africa, the 11th African Day of Occupational Risks was celebrated in Cameroon, together with the ILO World Day for Safety and Health at Work, on 27 April 2007. Events took place at the Palais de Congrès, Yaoundé. The theme of the day was "National Coordination of Occupational Safety and Health Committees: Promotion and Orientation of Activities of Occupational Safety and Health Committees". The ceremonies included speeches by a representative of the Director of the ILO Subregional Office for Central Africa and by the Minister of Work and Social Security of Cameroon. Two round table discussions were also held, one on the theme of the World Day, "Safe and Healthy Workplaces - Making Decent Work a Reality", and the other on the above-mentioned theme of the African Day.
