Naomi Cassirer is a technical specialist with the Conditions of Work and Employment Programme. She is responsible for work on issues related to work and family (including maternity protection). She joined the ILO in 2001 as a gender specialist in the ILO subregional office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific where she provided technical advisory services at the policy and programme level and support to national organizations in promoting gender equality in employment. She has published on sex and race inequality in the workplace, focusing on such areas as occupational segregation, promotions, pay, and the growth and consequences of nonstandard employment relationships. She is currently working on a publication bringing together research on the issues confronting workers with family responsibilities in developing countries.
