Social Security Department
The Social Security Department, with its long experience in the field of technical cooperation activities, research and policy development on issues dealing with social security, provides ILO member States with tools and assistance to achieve and maintain the right to Social Security for these people.
Labour Protection Department
The work of the newly created Department, PROTRAV, covers issues related to prevention of occupational accidents and diseases, promotion of workers' health and well-being, and improvement of working and employment conditions particularly wages and incomes, working time, work organization, maternity protection, work-family balance, violence and harassment at work. It also assists constituents on matters relating to labour inspection as an essential element of good governance. A majority of the ILO international labour standards are related to the issues under the responsibility of this department and provide the basic framework for work
