Youth-to-Youth Fund

YEN has a long history in working with youth organizations in developing countries. The cooperation has showed that these organizations often have good and innovative ideas for youth employment projects but lack the financial or human capital to implement them. Therefore, the Youth To Youth Fund aims to provide youth led organizations with both funding and capacity building, thereby enabling them to move from being passive recipients and become active participants in the promotion and creation of youth employment.

The pilot round of the Youth to Youth fund was launched in the Mano River Union (MRU) in 2009 with the cooperation of UNIDO. In 2010 following the success of the pilot YEN has been able to secure funding through the Danish led Africa Commission and launch the Fund in East Africa as part of the Youth Entrepreneurship Facility in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. A second call for proposals has also been launched in Sierra Leone and Guinea.
