    • Private Sector Demand for Youth Labour in Senegal and Ghana - (pdf 1.2 mb)
      The study, developed by YEN in partnership with the International Youth Foundation, provides a situational analysis of youth employment in Ghana and Senegal. It sought to identify sectors with the highest employment potential, employers’ perceptions for hiring young people, minimum skills requirements, existing gender differentials in hiring practices, and existing interventions by businesses to promote youth employment. The study thus provides labour market information to employment actors including youth, employers, education and training institutions, Government, financial and technical partners.

     

    • Joining Forces for Young People: A Practial Guide to Collaboration with Youth People - (pdf 1.5 mb)
      Produced by the Youth Consultative Group, in partnership with the YEN secretariate, this guide for youth acts to facilitate and motivate young peoples’ participation in youth employment policymaking. This guide is part of ongoing efforts to systemise the substantive and meaningful engagement of young people in the development and implementation of youth employment strategies.
    • The World Bank's Youth Employment Inventory - (pdf 547 kb)
      This Youth Employment Inventory (YEI) is based on available documentation and includes evidence from 289 studies of interventions from 84 countries in all regions of the world. The interventions have been analyzed to (i) document the types of programs that have been implemented to support young workers to find work; and (ii) identify what appears to work in terms of improving employment outcomes for youth.
    • Building the Case for Business Collaboration on Youth Employment: Good Practice from West Africa - (pdf 2 mb) •French - (pdf 2 mb)
      The publication profiles 8 cross-sectoral youth employment partnerships between business and their social partners (civil society, government and multilateral institutions) with the goal of documenting and sharing good practice and lessons learned in collaboration in this issue area. The guide also outlines the rationale for business engagement in youth employment and summarizes the main areas where business contribution can have the greatest impact on the employment situation for youth.
