YEN Mission Statement

YEN works to engage, educate and motivate actors to provide improved employment opportunities for youth. It is a platform and service provider focusing on policy advice, innovative pilot projects, knowledge sharing, and brokering partnerships. YEN makes use of its core agency partners’ know how and resources and ensures youth participation in delivering its services.

A group of 17 countries that have commited to tackling the youth employment challenge at the highest level.

Youth-to-Youth Fund

Now accepting proposals for innovative youth-led entrepreneurship development projects in Tanzania, Uganda and Guinea.

Private Sector Initiative
A multi-stakeholder platform for business action on youth employment in West Africa.
Results measurement in youth employment
Building the evidence base to support the development of effective programmes and policies to create jobs for youth through evaluation

 

International Year of Youth 2010 (pdf 329 kb)

On 18 December 2009, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution A/RES/64/134 proclaiming the year commencing on 12 August 2010 as the International Year of Youth: Dialogue and Mutual Understanding. The Year will coincide with the 25th anniversary of the first International Youth Year in 1985 on the theme Participation, Development and Peace.
