- Study tour of Uruguay delegation in Finland, Finland, 4-7 November 2003

At the request of the Government of Uruguay EMP/POL organized a study tour in Finland for an Uruguayan delegation. This activity falls within the framework of the Global Employment Agenda, as part of the implementation strategy of the Agenda concerns the exchange of individual country experiences and the sharing of valuable knowledge.

Training Workshops

- Iraq: EMP/POL has contributed to the implementation of a technical workshop on employment for representatives of Iraqi constituents held in Amman (Jordan) in December 2005. Resource persons from EMP/POL have intervened in the areas of active labour market policies and employment strategy development.

- Mongolia: EMP/POL has contributed to the implementation of a technical workshop on employment for representatives of Mongolean constituents held in Ulaam Baatar in May 2004. This event was organised by the ILO International Trainin Centre of Turin. EMP/POL intervened with a resource person presenting the ILO Global Employment Agenda and some international practices in the field of active labour market policies.

- Turin: Central Asia and Caucasus sub-regional workshop on employment strategies. Presentations:

1. National Employment Strategies and Policies: The International Context.

2. Reducing Poverty by Promoting Employment of Youth and Other Vulnerable Groups in the Informal Economy of Central Asia and Caucasus.
