Objectives of the IFP/SKILLS Technical Cooperation
 

The group aims to ensure and enhance the coordination of the technical cooperation activities for which it is responsible and the quality of the training products and services, as well as improving delivery rates. Through the implementation of its work plan, it ensures the promotion and dissemination of quality tools to meet current and future needs within programmes and projects to develop employability in all human resources categories. The group thus make a significant contribution to the efforts to develop remunerative work and combat poverty, in accordance with the needs and objectives described in the Report of the Director-General, Decent Work.

The strategic objectives of IFP/SKILLS technical cooperation programmes in the area of human resources development and training are:
  • Providing opportunities for women and men to obtain and sustain decent and productive work.
  • Translating into practical activities the Conventions and Recommendations related to HRD and training.
  • Building up the expertise and capacity of constituents to undertake the necessary policy, institutional and training system reforms in light of changes in the global economy.
  • Delivering products and services developed by the ILO in order to meet the changing needs of its constituents.
  • Developing technical cooperation programmes and projects in support of the ILO's strategic objectives.
IFP/SKILLS technical cooperation programme is committed to provide services along the following quality standards:
  • improved coordination and increased efficiency of all activities;
  • enhancement of the quality of training products and services including methodological approaches; and effective dissemination of good practices including feedback and integration into ongoing and future activities.
