2-5 May 2004 - Workshop - Sanaa, Yemen
Capacity Building Workshop on Gender Equality, Employment Promotion and Poverty Eradication in Yemen
The workshop will bring together approximately 25 representatives of Ministries and other major governmental institutions and non-governmental organisations who will have the opportunity to discuss strategies and solutions for fighting poverty, promoting decent work and integrating gender concerns in Yemen, and to review the PRSP process in Yemen with regards to gender equality policies. The workshop is organised by the ILO Regional Office for Arab States in Beirut, and the Gender Promotion Unit and Policy Integration Department of the ILO in Geneva, the International Training Centre of the ILO in Turin, and the Centre for Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR).

Validation and Strategic Planning Workshop for the Adaptation and Use of the ILO Gender, Poverty and Employment Modular Training Kit
The workshop will be attended by 25 participants working in gender, poverty and employment at national or regional levels, who will define the final contents of and process to produce a Gender, Poverty and Employment Modular Training Package for the Caribbean, assess its relevance as a training and information instrument and suggest ways to adapt it to the countries in the Caribbean. The cooperating agencies for this event are the UNDP, UNIFEM, CIDA-CARICOM Gender Equality Programme and Ministries of Labour and Social Development in Trinidad and Tobago.
