CareerLink Associates Network

On 7.12.2001, the Ministry of manpower (MOM) signed a 12-month Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 13 organisations to establish a Distributed CareerLink Network which will give the public easier and more efficient access toemployment and training services and information. A total of S$3.2 million was provided to these organisations (called "Associates").

The CDCs, Self-Help Groups, SNEF, NTUC and SPEC formed the Network. The Associates were allowed to use the financial support in areas such as the employment of staff, rental, renovation, purchase of relevant employment and training related publications, as well as marketing and advertising expenses of their services.

Organisations in the Distributed Careerlink Network:

The CareerLink Associates Network is a group of organisations which share the common mission of serving their members/clients/communities, including providing career related services and/or helping to meet their training and development needs. Members of the network share experiences and expertise in the provision of career and related services, as well as exchange information on the latest manpower development needs and issues.

CareerLink is a one-stop career centre set up by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to provide advisory services and career-related resources to help Singaporeans make informed decisions on employment and training that will enhance their employability.

CareerLink users are Singaporeans, including those who are newly entering the job market, those considering upgrading their skills, those exploring job opportunities, those considering re-entering the job market (e.g.housewives and retirees), students exploring career options, as well as human resource personnel and employers.

CareerLink provides essential information and guidance on labour market trends, jobs and training opportunities. CareerLink will help to:

Self-Help Resources

We provide a wide range of career resources such as books, publications and multimedia materials on job search, resume writing, career management, HR matters, labour market trends, various training opportunities and training incentive schemes. Computer stations are available for you to access the internet for job and learning opportunities, try out the career assessment tools on-line, and prepare your resume.

The centre also provides common office equipment such as facsimile machines, telephones, photocopiers and printers for use.

Enhanced Job Assistance

This service is for job seekers who are unable to make use of the self-help facilities and require personal assistance. Our Career Officers will provide career and training advice and assist them in their job search via various job channels including iJOBS (MOM's internet job bank).

Career Coaching

This service is offered to clients who are planning their career paths. Using a licensed methodology, our Career Coaches will guide you through a rewarding and fruitful journey in gaining hidden or new insights about yourself and to formulate an action plan for your career search. In career coaching, the Career Coach will bring you through a journey of self-discovery using card sorts and worksheets. During the coaching, you will discover your career values, motivational skills, and primary wants for your next career. The coach will help you analyse the information gathered, identify obstacles and measures to contain them, and arrive at a conclusive career direction. The coach may advise you to undergo training arrangements necessary for your new career direction. Career coaching is available by appointment only.
