Colombia

The ILO was involved in the first project in Colombia on road maintenance through micro enterprises, in 1984. This experience laid the foundation for a system of road maintenance which is still in use and has been institutionalised, and in which some 300 local micro enterprises are contracted for routine maintenance of national roads.
