GreenNet

is part of the only global computer network specifically designed for environment, peace, human rights and development groups. They do have a special labour-trade-union site, a development site, and also host the International Forum for Rural Transport and Development site, which promotes an alternative approach towards rural transport like ASIST does. 

The Research Program in
Environmental Planning
and Geographic Information Systems
(REGIS)

of the University of California at Berkeley keeps a website on GIS tools and apply them in environmental planning, management, research, and teaching. REGIS supports open computing hardware architecture, public-domain GIS software, and open access to digital information on the environment and land use.
