Map of Asia
ASIST-AP is presently working in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
Some work has been done both at the ILO headquarters level and in Africa through ASIST Africa on urban infrastructure. This is an area where we see a potential for the expansion of ASIST-APs work also. Particularly, in relation to community contracts, local level planning and simple technical works. At this stage ASIST-AP has only a limited capacity to effectively support programmes in the urban sector. This is not to say that we will not be looking to do so. Rather, we are in the process of developing a coherent and substantive programme.
