Objectives of the Forum
To mark the 30th Anniversary of the ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (MNE Declaration), MultiForum 07 brought together top executives and worker representatives from more than 100 innovative global companies as well as government officials from around the world. It provided an extraordinary platform for sharing and exploring how effective practices in promoting labour principles can stimulate growth and enhance competitiveness.
Unique open discussions between management and workers were held, and the breakout sessions looked at specific challenges in the manufacturing, agriculture, extractives and services sectors.
Key questions addressed at MultiForum 07 included:
- What are the world’s most innovative companies doing to achieve higher productivity and business success through socially responsible behaviour?
- How are workers and their organizations contributing towards successful and responsible business practices?
- How can the ILO support such initiatives?
