The supply of TA providers remains limited, hence our ongoing efforts to strengthen a community that could provide valuable services to organizations in need of expertise. We aim to do this by nurturing a new generation of microinsurance experts through
joint missions -
(pdf 425 KB) and fellowships - (pdf 429 KB).
Opportunities for emerging experts
Joint missions allow professionals with a relevant background, primarily in insurance, to acquire microinsurance experience by working on technical assistance assignments for a short period alongside experts on our roster.
Fellowships enable professionals to gain an in-depth experience in microinsurance by working onsite on a microinsurance programme for 6-12 months under the guidance of a mentor. The Facility facilitates networking and transfer of knowledge by providing fellows with additional training opportunities and supporting them to attend major microinsurance events.
Participants in these programmes are typically professionals with substantial experience in the insurance industry who have limited exposure to the low-income market. They are expected to provide insurance expertise while learning to adapt that expertise to the low-income market.
Once they have acquired sufficient experience, the new microinsurance experts have the opportunity to be registered on the Facility TA Providers roster.
If you are interested in participating in the joint-mission or fellowship programme, email your CV to
microinsurancetechassist@ilo.org to request an application form.
