The Facility launches a partnership with European Development Research Network (EUDN) to collaborate on research in order to better understand how insurance can help reduce vulnerability among the low income households in developing countries.
EUDN, as the key academic partner, will advise the Facility on its research strategy and methodological issues. It will also manage the Facility's research grants and related results dissemination.
EUDN fellows have extensive experience in researching risks, insurance and poverty. They have started to review relevant literature and resources published on the topic and will prepare a draft research strategy to be discussed within an expert committee on 9/10 September 2008.
