Government Programmes in Yemen - Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour

National Program for Productive Families

A decree was issued for the establishment of this programme in 1998 which is administered by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour. The programme seeks to provide vocational skills training for poor families, particularly those dependent on social security assistance. In 2000, there were 51 centres. Training included dressmaking, decoration and furnishing, secretarial work, computing, accessorizing, sculpture, carpentry, health awareness and literacy.
