Government Programmes in Singpore - Ministry of Manpower Manpower 21The Human Resources Promotion Section (HRPS) has been set up within the Ministry of Manpower's (MOM) Labour Relations Department to co-ordinate efforts in promoting good human resources practices as part of the Manpower 21 program. One of its objectives is to enhance opportunities for all Singaporeans to remain employable, including older employees, married women and the disabled. The HRPS works in partnership with the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI), Productivity and Standards Board (PSB) and other relevant agencies Ministry of Manpower The Ministry of Manpower in conjunction with the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board (PSB), the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Singapore National Employers’ Federation (SNEF) launched a tripartite “Back to Work” programme in September 1996. The programme aims at encouraging employers to tap the pool of housewives and retirees by providing suitable employment so that they are attracted to rejoin the workforce. Among other promotional activities, the tripartite partners organise job fairs at community centres to help bring together potential job seekers and employers. |
