Courts and Tribunals - Bolivia

Introduction

The procedure and resolution of matters related to labour questions is governed by the Labour Procedural Code established by Ordinance Law N° 16896 of July 25, 1979.

The Law establishes that all proceedings are free of charge and immediate and should respond to the protection of the worker's rights (Article 3). It also establishes that the special labour and social security jurisdiction is exercised in (Article 6):

  1. Labour and Social Security Courts as courts of first instance.
  2. National Court of Labour and Social security as tribunal of appeal.
  3. Supreme Court of Justice in the Social Administrative Court Room as tribunal of cassation.
