Council of Ministers (the Government of the Republic of Belarus) - Belarus

In the structure of the Council of Ministers there are the following three bodies whose function is relevant to the establishment of equal opportunities:

1. Directorate of Social and Cultural Affairs
2. Section on Health Care, Social Security, and Maternal and Child Welfare
3. National Council on Gender Policy

The last body was established in May 2000 as an analytical, advisory, and coordination body with one of its main aims being the submission of proposals aimed at improving the mechanism of control over the observance of the legislation in respect of women and men on the application of the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
