Ministry of Labour, Employment and Training of Human Resources - Argentina The Ministry is the main agency responsible for elaborating, administrating, governing and monitoring public policies on labour issues and the labour relationship, employment policies, vocational training and social security policies. Its website includes sections on Women and Work and Domestic Workers. Decree 777/96 designated this Ministry as the central authority for the coordination and monitoring of all services of labour inspection. It is the responsibility of its National Directorate of Labour Relationships to ensure the compliance of the labour inspection with the standards of ratified international conventions. In this role of coordinator and central authority, the Ministry is fostering the consolidation of the Integrated System of Labour and Social Security Inspection. This Ministry, through its Secretariat of Employment, is the responsible implementing agency for the Regional Programme for Women (CINTEFOR/OIT), which targets a group of low income women, trough vocational training, capacity building and some internship programmes.
This administrative body was created in 1956 within the ambit of the Ministry of Labour and Social security. It has the duty to know of individual disputes derived from the labour relations regulated by the statute for domestic workers. The decision of this council may be appealed before the labour national judge of first instance. |
