National Guidelines in Japan - Representation of Women

The Headquarters for the Promotion of Gender Equality administers a policy on "The Promotion of Appointments of Women as National Advisory Council and Committee Members". This policy seeks to increase the representation of women in governmental policy and decision-making. It has lead to increases in the representation of women on national advisory councils and the setting of targets for such representation.
