The Women's Education Unit (WEU)

The WEU is responsible for the formal education for girls and women. It was established to:

  1. coordinate girls' education program activities under formal and nonformal education including adult education;
  2. implement education program to girls enrollment at all levels of education;
  3. implement education-awareness programs to introduce socio-cultural awareness into girls' education; and,
  4. conduct research on education with gender sensitivity.

Manpower and Statistics Section

The Manpower and Statistics Section under the Planning Division of the Ministry of Education and Culture, publishes an annual comprehensive report, called the Educational Statistics of Nepal, which includes, for example female statistics in Technical Schools. This publication is intended to respond to the growing demands for education information from government officials, educators, researchers, and international agencies by providing relevant data on key indicators of the Nepalese educational system. The Ministry of Education's statistical information is based on the annual collection and analysis of basic school level data.
