Vice Ministry of Initial, Primary and Secondary Education

The Unit of Curricular Development in the Vice Ministry takes actions to implement gender issues in education by curricular transformation.

The focus is on gender equality as a human right of men and women and as a necessary requirement for equality of opportunities. The identified areas covered include:

1. identity and self-respect,
2. division of labour,
3. assignation of responsibilities
4. discrimination against woman in history
5. social and political participation.

A new programme started in 2003 is entitled Access and Permanence of girls in the Rural Area.
