CGAP Working Group on Microinsurance

The ILO Social Finance Programme has been mandated to manage the CGAP Microinsurance Working Group.  This group includes donors, insurers and other interested parties. It coordinates donor activities as they pertain to the development and proliferation of insurance services to low-income households in developing countries. The main activities of the working group include:

• Document case studies (Peru, Poland) of insurance products and delivery models

• Commission research on key issues such as the regulatory environment for microinsurance

• Supporting innovations that will expand the availability of appropriate microinsurance products

• Publishing a quarterly newsletter on microinsurance:

- September 2004
- April 2004
- November 2003
- August 2003

• Managing the content of the Microinsurance Focus website: www.microfinancegateway.org/section/resourcecenters/microinsurance

For further information on the overall activities of the Working Group, please contact Craig Churchill.
