PEACEBUILDING
The ILO's programme in Liberia has three components. The first one focuses on Local Economic Development (LED) through Labour Intensive Road Works, small enterprise and cooperatives development. This video shows the first phase of activities, which concentrates on road construction. The international engineer explains how the road will help the development of the local economy. More videos will follow in the coming months to show the LED aspects of the programme, including small enterprise and cooperatives development.

PEACEBUILDING
The ILO's programme in Liberia has three components. The second one focuses on waste management in Monrovia, entrepreneurship and skills development. This video shows the waste collecting activities. More videos will follow in the coming months to highlight the entrepreneurship and skills development aspects of the programme.

NATURAL DISASTER
A report released by the ILO, UNDP and the Ministry of Labour indicates considerable job loss as a result of the earthquake in August 2007. The report was based on a survey conducted to assess the labour situation and better prepare for the reconstruction process.

PEACEBUILDING
The labour offices will not only provide information on vacancies and emergency employment services, but will also orient unskilled and semi-skilled seekers to Vocational Training Centres.
PARTNERSHIPS
An inter-agency mission of the Cluster Working Group on Early Recovery (CWGER), represented by UNHCR, UNDP and OCHA, is going to take place from 22 October to 4 November in DRC. The main objective of the mission is to identify gaps and type of support required to the CWGER.
PEACEBUILDING
ILO organized a mission to the Occupied Palestinian Territories to give an impulse to the ILO technical cooperation programme.
TRAINING EVENT
The aim is to finalise and launch a set of core tools designed to address employment creation and income generation in crisis-affected areas.
PEACEBUILDNG
The agreement allows for the provision of capacity-building and technical assistance to Ministry of Labour, Public Services and Human Resources Development of the Government of Southern Sudan.
