The Tripartite Meeting on Moving to Sustainable Agricultural Development through the Modernization of Agriculture and Employment in a Globalized Economy,
Having met in Geneva from 18 to 22 September 2000,
Observing that ILO activities in the field of agriculture should be guided by the outcomes of this Meeting;
Adopts this twenty-second day of September 2000 the following resolution:
The Tripartite Meeting on Moving to Sustainable Agricultural Development through the Modernization of Agriculture and Employment in a Globalized Economy invites the Governing Body of the ILO:
Having met in Geneva from 18 to 22 September 2000,
Observing that ILO activities in the field of agriculture should be guided by the outcomes of this Meeting,
Noting that women both as farmers and farmworkers account for almost half the world's agricultural labour force and are responsible for a great part of the world's food production;
Adopts this twenty-second day of September 2000 the following resolution:
The Tripartite Meeting on Moving to Sustainable Agricultural Development through the Modernization of Agriculture and Employment in a Globalized Economy invites the Governing Body of the ILO:
to continue to implement measures aimed at increasing women's participation in future tripartite meetings.

Observing that ILO activities in the field of agriculture should be guided by the outcomes of this Meeting;
Adopts this twenty-second day of September 2000 the following resolution:
The Tripartite Meeting on Moving to Sustainable Agricultural Development through the Modernization of Agriculture and Employment in a Globalized Economy invites the Governing Body of the ILO:
to urge all member States to ratify the eight core Conventions and other relevant, up-to-date labour standards concerning the agricultural sector.
** Freedom of association: Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise Convention, 1948 (No. 87); Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining Convention, 1949 (No. 98). The abolition of forced labour: Forced Labour Convention, 1930 (No. 29); Abolition of Forced Labour Convention, 1957 (No. 105). Equality: Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention, 1958 (No. 111); Equal Remuneration Convention, 1951 (No. 100). The elimination of child labour: Minimum Age Convention, 1973 (No. 138); Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999 (No. 182).
