International Labour Organization

  • Bureau for Multinational Enterprise Activities (MULTI), ILO, Geneva, Switzerland. The objective of MULTI is the widespread observance of the Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy as a framework for action by governments, workers, employers, and multinational enterprises (MNEs) to address the labour and social benefits and difficulties that may arise in the context of foreign direct investment and the activities of MNEs.
  • SafeWork Programme, ILO, Geneva, Switzerland. This programme aims to create worldwide awareness of the dimensions and consequences of work-related accidents, injuries and diseases; to place the health and safety of all workers on the international agenda; and to stimulate and support practical action at all levels

  • International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions (ICEM), Brussels, Belgium. ICEM is a rapidly growing industry-based world labour federation dedicated to practical solidarity. The site contains world labour news updates, information on ICEM action, links, events information and ICEM media.
  • Public Services International (PSI), Ferney-Voltaire, France. PSI is an international trade union federation for public sector unions. It's website provides information on PSI actions and regional activities, links to affiliates and other resources sites, and publications.
  • Union Network International (UNI), Electricity sector, Geneva, Switzerland. UNI is a network that promotes international cooperation between affiliated unions, so that they can better deal with increasingly multi-national employers and international institutions. The UNI-Electricity site serves as a point of contact for its affiliates and provides information on UNI activities and on other events pertinent to this sector.
International Trade Union Organizations
  • International Confederation of Free Trade Unions, Brussels, Belgium. ICFTU is a confederation of national trade union centres, each of which links together the trade unions of that particular country. The website provides publications, information on ICFTU activities, press information, manuals, links and more.
  • World Confederation of Labour , Brussels, Belgium. The WCL is an international trade union confederation uniting trade unions from countries all over the world. The website contains publications, information on WCL activities, press releases and links.
  • World Federation of Trade Unions, Prague, Czech Republic. The WFTU is composed of associated and affiliated trade unions representing the collective interests of workers from countries worldwide. The website provides background information on the WFTU, information on the most recent congress and conference, press releases and links.

International and Non-governmental organizations

  • Regional Electrical Integration Commission, Montevideo, Uruguay. CIER promotes and encourages the integration of regional electric sectors.(in Spanish)
  • International Energy Agency, Paris, France. The energy forum for 26 Member countries which is an autonomous agency linked with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
  • World Energy Council, London, United Kingdom: A global multi-energy organization seeking to promote the sustainable supply and use of energy for the greatest benefit of all. Website provides news and events, publications, and access to the WEC's energy data center.
  • World Water Assessment Programme, United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization . This UN-wide programme seeks to develop the tools and skills needed to achieve a better understanding of those basic processes, management practices and policies that will help improve the supply and quality of global freshwater resources.
