Migrant workers

It is estimated that today there are more than 86 million migrant workers throughout the world, with 34 million of these in developing regions.

In addition to women and young people, migrant workers are another vulnerable group which tends to be proportionately overly-employed in the sector, with migrants concentrated in lower paid, low skills and less stable segments of the job market due to such factors as language or unfamiliarity with the host culture.
