How to obtain the PDPThe ILO is making the PDP training materials available, under licensing agreements, to government ministries / departments / agencies / authorities, ports (port authorities / organizations, port / terminal / other port-related facility operators), portworkers' organizations and training and other institutions having the capacity to use the materials effectively or wishing to develop such capacity. The ILO grants to the Licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the PDP for internal training purposes only in the location/s specified in licence agreement. The ILO would be pleased to provide an eligible interested party with the relevant order form that includes the "Licence Agreement - Terms and Conditions". Should the eligible interested party decide to go ahead with the use of the ILO PDP, it should complete the order form in duplicate and send two original copies to the ILO by mail and send a fax copy in advance. If any questions do not apply to the eligible interested party, these should be left in blank. Both forms will be signed by the Chief of the Sectoral Activities Branch of the ILO and one of them will be returned to the eligible interested party along with the payment instructions. The cost of the licence that includes a CD-ROM of the English or the Spanish version of the PDP training materials (comprising 30 units, an extensive glossary of technical terms, lesson plans, exercises, tests and about 1700 transparencies / slides and other supportive material that support more than 900 hours of training pertinent to container terminal operations) is presently US$ 10,000 for a five-year licence period, which may be renewed for additional five-year periods at US$ 1,000 for each renewal. All 30 (thirty) PDP units are provided as one package and individual units may not be provided on a selective basis. Upon receipt of the said amount the ILO will send to the eligible interested party the CD-ROM of the latest 2005 edition of the English or Spanish version (as indicated in the relevant order form) of the PDP training material.The ILO would provide free of charge all PDP licensees with any updated PDP versions. The PDP materials are also available in a high quality hard copy version with laminated transparencies and worksheets at US$ 25,000. This price also includes the PDP CD-ROM. Any training using the PDP training material would best be provided by PDP instructors who have undergone a special training. The ILO can provide technical assistance to PDP licensees to organize and run such PDP instructors workshops. In order to provide interested parties with an idea of the contents of the required training for the PDP instructors the announcement of an international PDP instructor’s workshop that the ILO organized at the ILO International Training Centre in Turin (Italy) from 4 to 13 October 2004 is hereby attached. The training material for the 10-day workshop for PDP Chief Instructors (training of trainers) is provided separately on a CD-ROM that costs US$ 500. The relevant order form is also hereby attached. |
