1. The demarcation at 1988 is in recognition of the adoption that year of the Economic Reform Programme which laid the basis of the recovery starting in 1990.
2. The final calculations actually show a split of 74:26. A further curiosity is that in the text (World Bank 1994, p. 10) the proportion of non-food expenditure was said to be 35 per cent.
