Policy Dialogue Forums

The results of the national research assessments, together with ILO inputs, the provisions included in the international normative instruments applicable to teaching personnel , and other analysis and good practices brought by participants, formed the basis for social dialogue forums in specific geographic and linguistic sub-regions, involving a balance of governments, teacher unionists, private employers and other educational stakeholders.

By sharing information on causes, innovations and “what works or does not work” to improve the status of teaching and reduce shortages, the forums sought to help participating countries to understand how challenges and obstacles could be overcome through different policies, legislative and other measures in countries with similar socio-economic/cultural traditions and education systems.

The following forums have been held:
