CTA:
This USDOL funded project began in October 2001. Its main goal is to promote fundamental principles and rights at work. This project contains four immediate objectives including the reform of Ukrainian labour legislation consistent with the provisions of the ILO fundamental Conventions; reform of the labour inspection system and improved enforcement of the labour code; promotion and realisation of the principles of freedom of association and effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining and promotion of non-discrimination between women and men in employment.
The main target groups are workers and employers
in the Ukraine who will benefit from improved labour relations
and non-discrimination in the workplace. Direct
beneficiaries of this project are the staff of the employers'
and workers' organisations, labour inspectors and legislators of
the ministry of labour, the staff of the National Council for
Social Partnership, members of Parliament who are directly
involved in the drafting of social and labour laws, and major
NGOs dealing with labour, women and civil society at large.
