CTA:
The Programme for the Promotion of Social Dialogue in French-speaking
Africa was launched in 1998 and funded by the Belgian government. The French
government also contributed to this programme during 2002-2003. PRODIAF
covers 22 countries, as well as sub-regional institutions in West Africa
(UEMOA), in Central Africa (CEMAC) and in the countries of the Great Lakes.
The Programme is to be completed by the end of 2007.
The primary objective of the PRODIAF programme consists of assisting French-speaking
African countries to strengthen tripartite co-operation structures at national
and sub-regional level and enable governments and social partners to evaluate
their social dialogue and tripartite co-operation systems and analyse together
improvements, changes and reinforcements, where necessary.
PRODIAF assists the countries concerned in evaluating the situation; strengthening
the structures; enhancing deliberation and negotiation capacities; undertaking
research activities and creating a network of African social dialogue practitioners/experts. |
