Desk Officer:
CTA:

This USDOL funded project which began in February 2001 aims at creating a more harmonious climate for industrial relations - one that supports economic growth while guaranteeing workers' rights. The project is designed to assist in the elaboration and implementation of labour legislation in Indonesia. It has provided extensive training and capacity building for the social partners and the government, including the industrial judicial system and bipartite and tripartite social dialogue institutions. Project activities have been concentrated in six provinces: Jakarta, West Java, East Java, North Sumatra, Riau and East Kalimantan. The project will reach its terminal phase in 2005.
