Productivity and Competitiveness

Productivity and Competitiveness - CD-ROMProductivity and competitiveness are key issues for private enterprise development in any country, and employers' organizations have an important role in underpinning this in their policy work and in providing services to their members on issues relating to productivity and competitiveness. Productive enterprise development means that enterprises can create new and additional jobs, which in turn is one of the most concrete and important contributions to national efforts on poverty reduction.

Over the past couple of years, the Bureau for Employers' Activities (ACT/EMP) has been carrying out a project aimed at developing and strengthening the capacities of employers' organizations in Caucasus and Central Asia to provide and deliver services to member enterprises and potential member enterprises on issues of productivity and competitiveness.

A CD-ROM has been produced with the aim of assisting employers' organizations by providing them with materials on the issue of productivity and competitiveness for their work with member enterprises. The CD-ROM provides reference material to guide action by employers' organizations or other business associations vis-à-vis private enterprises, particularly in transition countries.

Productivity and Competitiveness - CD-ROMThe CD-ROM comprises the research reports, handbooks and training materials on productivity and competitiveness by the employers' organizations in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. All the materials have been produced within the project "Capacity building of employers' organizations in productivity and competitiveness in Caucasus and Central Asia", which was implemented by the Bureau of Employers' Activities (ACT/EMP) with funding from the Norwegian Government.

Although primarily aimed at staff or trainers from employers' organizations, it will also be useful for enterprise managers, business associations, consultants or others in finding relevant information to help shape and further develop their own initiatives on productivity and competitiveness issues.

For further information or to order a copy of the CD-ROM please contact us.
