Oral history project
In the first phase of the Project, a number of interviews with ILO key figures have been carried out. The following edited transcriptions are available:

- David Morse, ILO Director General from 1948 to 1970, was interviewed for an Oral History project at the Truman Presidential Library in 1977.

Comments and contributions by ILO staff, former staff and constituents will be posted as received. The responsibility for opinions expressed in signed articles, studies and other contributions rests solely with their authors, and publication does not constitute an endorsement by the International Labour Office of the opinions expressed in them.

Georges Kanawaty has prepared a report on an unusual round table that he organized in 1988, with the participation of President Gorbatchev's Economic Adviser and leading exponent of perestroika, Abel Aganbegyan.

Dharam Ghai, one of the central actors of the World Employment Programme in the 1970s and 1980s, has written some reflections on the success of this programme.
- My Life as an International Civil Servant in the ILO - (pdf, 2.85MB)
Archie Evans' "My Life as an International Civil Servant in the ILO" was written in 1995 almost thirty years after his retirement. It is a 70-page first-hand account of a very interesting period in ILO history, from his work as a press assistant in Albert Thomas' Cabinet through to the end of 1966.
