Information Resources

Sharing knowledge of ILO history with a broad public, academic and non-academic, inside and outside of the Organization, is an important strategic objective of the ILO Century Project.

New research published by the ILO (ILO Publications and papers) will be presented on the Project’s website and completed by Selected academic publications (books and recent articles) with an internet link and an abstract.

In close collaboration with ILO Archives and the ILO Library the Project will improve the access to existing information resources on ILO history. The ILO Library has created an online chronology which gives an overview of key dates in the ILO’s institutional history and provides direct access to selected key documents.

Interviews with ILO key figures, collaborators and beneficiaries in the field are carried out in the framework of an oral history project. Those interviews as well as personal comments and recollections represent an individual perspective on ILO’s history which complements the traditional written resources. All these sources will be accessible via the website.

Finally, important basic resources (e.g. conference reports, resolutions adopted by the International Labour Conference, conventions and recommendations etc.) are directly accessible to facilitate the work of students, researchers and all those interested in ILO’s past and present activities.
