3132 BROADCASTING AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT OPERATORS
 


    Broadcasting and telecommunications equipment operators control technical functioning of equipment for transmitting radio and television broadcasts of prerecorded or live images and sounds, as well as other types of telecommunications signals on land and sea or in aircraft.

    Tasks include -

    (a) controlling transmitting and broadcasting systems and satellite systems for radio and television programmes;

    (b) controlling radio communications systems, satellite services and multiplex systems on land and sea and in aircraft;

    (c) controlling cinema projection equipment;

    (d) applying knowledge of principles and practices of broadcasting, telecommunications terminals and transmission systems, in order to identify and solve problems arising in the course of their work and maintain equipment;

    (e) keeping logs of operations;

    (f) performing related tasks;

    (g) supervising other workers.
