2452 SCULPTORS, PAINTERS AND RELATED ARTISTS
 


    Sculptors, painters and related artists create and execute works of art by sculpting, painting, drawing, creating cartoons, engraving or using related techniques.

    Tasks include -

    (a) creating representational or abstract three-dimensional or relief forms by shaping and combining materials such as wood, stone, clay or metal;

    (b) creating representational or abstract drawings and paintings using pencils, ink, chalk, oil paints, water colours or through the application of other techniques;

    (c) creating drawings and engraving or etching them on metal, wood, or other materials;

    (d) creating cartoons to depict persons and events, often in caricature;

    (e) creating and executing designs and illustrations for books, magazines, advertising and similar purposes;

    (f) restoring damaged, soiled and faded paintings and other art objects;

    (g) painting miniatures;

    (h) per-forming related tasks;

    (i) supervising other workers.
