Junior Professional Officer Programme- FAQs

Q. Is there an age limitation for Junior Professional Officers (JPOs)?

A. Candidates should usually be between 25 and 32 years of age. However, this depends on the specific donor requirements of the Programme.

Q. Which ILO donors sponsor JPOs?

A. The governments of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, The Republic of Korea, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

New donors are also interested in sponsoring JPOs.

Q. Which donors sponsor candidates other than their own nationals? 

A. Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands (kindly refer to the Ministry of foreign affairs of the relevant country for further details).

Q. Where should candidates interested in becoming a JPO apply?

A. All applications should be made directly to the candidate's government (usually the Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Please note that positions funded by the Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal will not be published through their national institutions, but through the ILO recruitment site under the current vacancies.
