Q. Is there an age limitation for Associate Experts?
A. Candidates should usually be between 25 and 32 years of age. However, this depends on the specific donor requirements of the Programme.
Q. Which ILO donors sponsor Associate Experts?
A. The governments of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Q. Which donors sponsor candidates other than their own nationals/ e.g. persons from non-represented countries or European citizens?
A. Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands
Q. Where should candidates interested in becoming an Associate Expert apply?
A. All applications should be made directly to the candidate's government (usually the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) with the exception of candidates from non-represented countries, who may apply to the Programme through the governments of Belgium, Italy or the Netherlands. Please note, that positions funded by the Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal will not be published through their national institutions, but through the ILO recruitment site under the current vacancies.
