  1. Master in Occupational Safety and Health

    The University of Turin, Italy, in partnership with the International Training Centre (ITC) of the ILO, is offering a Master course in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). This one-year programme, to be held in English, includes an Internet-based distance learning phase, a face-to-face residential period on the ITC-ILO’s campus in Turin followed by another distance phase for the preparation of the dissertation.

  1. Distance learning course on occupational safety and health

  2. Advancing HIV-sensitive Social Protection in Indonesia: A National Stakeholder Consultation

    Indonesia, Thailand and India have the largest number of people living with HIV in the Asia Pacific region. During 2001-2009, the number of Indonesian people living with HIV grew more than thirty fold. The number of provinces reporting HIV cases also jumped from 11 in 2004 to 33 provinces by 2009.

  1. Training Workshop on Prevention of Pneumoconioses (using the ILO 2011 Classification of Radiographs of Pneumoconioses)

    17 - 20 September 2012, Lima, Peru

    This training workshop, which is jointly organized by the ILO Programme on Safety and Health at Work and the Environment (SafeWork) and the National Institute of Health in Peru (NIS-CENSOPAS), aims to upgrade the skills of occupational physicians, chest doctors, radiologists, and pulmonologists for the effective use of the ILO 2011 International Classification of Radiographs for early detection and health surveillance of pneumoconiosis. In addition to its advanced training program, the workshop includes the national test for certification of X-ray readings for pneumoconiosis developed by NIH-CENSOPAS.

  1. Training Workshop with NIOSH B Reader Certification (using the ILO 2000 Classification of Radiographs of Pneumoconioses)

    20 - 23 December 2011, Bangkok, Thailand

    This training workshop is organized by the ILO Programme SafeWork and the Thai Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) in cooperation with NIOSH (USA). It offers an extensive training programme with x-ray film reading and includes NIOSH B Reader certification and re-certification examinations. It will be preceded by ILO/MOPH workshop on implementation of national programme for elimination of silicosis (NPES) in Thailand on 19 December 2011.

  2. World AIDS Day 2011

    The theme of World AIDS Day this year is "Getting to Zero" referring to the “Zero New HIV Infections. Zero Discrimination. Zero AIDS Related Deaths” objectives of the UNAIDS strategy for 2011-2015. The ILO has developed six posters to highlight the contribution of the workplace to "Getting to Zero".

  1. ILO International Safety Conference 2011 in cooperation with ISSA

    The conference will focus on the application of international tools on occupational safety and health (OSH) strategic approach at national and enterprise levels. Good practice in construction and health sectors, which face high and emerging risks to occupational accidents and diseases, will be highlighted. Under the theme "Promoting a preventative safety and health culture: International instruments, national strategies and good practices", the conference will offer an excellent forum to share the experience of different stakeholders and learn how to put it in practice at each level.
