What began as a crisis in finance markets has rapidly become a global jobs crisis. Unemployment is rising. The number of working poor is increasing. Businesses are going under. The ILOs' Decent Work Agenda provides the policy framework to confront the crisis. This website provides information on the employment and social impact of the crisis and policy responses.,

Faced with the prospect of a prolonged global increase in unemployment, poverty and inequality and the continuing collapse of enterprises, the International Labour Conference adopted a Global Jobs Pact designed to guide national and international policies aimed at stimulating economic recovery, generating jobs and providing protection to working people and their families.

Frente a la crisis económica, las autoridades paraguayas han incrementado los niveles de asignación de recursos y de ejecución de las inversiones públicas. Global Statistics on the Labour Market

Timely information and data on trends in the labour market and in prices are indispensable for drawing up appropriate policy responses to the global economic crisis.
The ILO publishes each month the latest national data for a selected number of indicators which have been selected for their ability to reflect recent and short term changes. These are:

Global Trends, October 2009 - (pdf 488.54 KB)

National data is compiled and released on a monthly, quarterly or half-year basis which the ILO disseminates through this information bulletin in advance of its regular statistical publications. Historical data are available from LABORSTA.

Labour Statistics Databases
- Labour Force Surveys
  Compiles links to web sites which contain labor force data from national statistical agencies, the ILO and other sources.
