ILO Development Cooperation Dashboard: What it is - How it works
The Dashboard provides customizable views of data on ILO development cooperation funded by voluntary contributions worldwide.
Summary
The Dashboard provides financial and programme information through a graphic interface based on maps and interactive graphics linked to source data, which allows users to refine their view of the data by by funding source (Partners), location (Countries), and ILO programme area (Outcomes). Data can be selected for a range of years and historical trends shown across time periods, using the slider above the graphic (shown below). The Summary page provides a snapshot view of who funds what, where and on which outcome. The data can be filtered and viewed by any combination of funding source, region/country, and programme area, either through a map, a trend graph or bar charts. New visual features for Partners and Outcomes represent the size of the funding and present the Top Ten ranking by total budget, total expenditure, or number of projects.
Users can always decide whether they wish to see the budget, expenditure or number of projects for any of the visualizations, by selecting the desired option from the "Show" drop-down menu at the bottom of the graphs.
To return to the base view and remove the filters, click on
Project finder
This function works as a search engine for ILO projects, allowing users to browse using a number of filters (appearing on the left): partner, outcome, recipient country, year, range of budget size and link to a Sustainable Development Goal. Once the project(s) of interest has been identified, users can find more information by clicking on the desired entry, opening the specific Project Page where key information, documents and financial data are displayed.
Data & Export
This function allows users to look at project information in a tabular format, which can be easily exported and saved.
In order to build customized tables, select the columns you wish to use and then click on "Save Table (CSV)". This function will export the same table visualised on your screen to a .CSV file, which can be opened with Microsoft Excel.
If you need all possible information for the selected project and do not wish to customise the table, then click on "Download Project Details (CSV)".
If you need to filter specific information from your downloaded data set, use the AutoFilter function (to learn how, click here). For ILO staff members that would benefit from additional support on how to analyse the downloaded excel spreadsheet, please access the free tutorials on Excel available via ILO People.
