  1. Human Rights Due Diligence in support of Decent Work (HRDD4DW)

    The European Commission (EC) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO), through its Multinational Enterprises and Responsible Business Conduct Unit (MULTI) have established a longstanding and productive partnership on driving the uptake of responsible business conduct (RBC) and decent work in EU trading partners. Grounded in ILO’s rights-based approach, and with activities firmly based on international labour standards and instruments that the ILO has a mandate to promote, the HRDD4DW project will help ensure that its constituents are able to conduct and engage in human rights due diligence to advance decent work.

  1. Better Work Programme in Indonesia - Stage IV

    The Project aims to improve working conditions and productivity in targeted employment-intensive sectors by improving compliance with international core labour standards and Indonesian labour law. In tandem, the project will promote productivity and competitiveness of enterprises linked to the Indonesian global supply chain.

  1. Promoting women’s economic empowerment at work through responsible business conduct in G7 countries

    This project aims to support sustainable, inclusive and equitable economic growth by promoting women’s economic empowerment in public and private sector in G7 countries. This project is funded by the European Union Partnership Instrument. The ILO Tripartite Declaration on Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (MNE Declaration) will provide the key guidance for activities under this cooperation.

    Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) is an ILO global programme that improves productivity and working conditions in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The key intervention of the global programme is support for the implementation of SCORE Training, which combines practical classroom training with in-factory consulting.

    The ILO in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is assisting the Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of labour and Social Services to improve and increase availability of statistics and data on labour migration through the establishment of a Labour Migration Centre (LMC) in the border town of Beitbridge.

  2. HIV/AIDS Prevention and Impact Mitigation in the World of Work in sub-Saharan Africa

    Sub-Saharan Africa has remained the epicentre of the AIDS pandemic, with 22.4 million people living with HIV and with 67 percent of new infections worldwide. From a sub-regional perspective, Southern Africa, where this programme is primarily implemented, is the area most deeply affected by the epidemic. Several factors have contributed to the spread of HIV in the region and these are compounded by prevailing poverty and various forms of inequality.

  3. Skills for Youth Employment and Rural Development in Western and Southern Africa

    The Skills for Youth Employment and Rural Development Programme is a 5 year partnership between the ILO and the Danish Africa Commission which is supporting the social partners in Zimbabwe (Benin and Burkina Faso) - government, trade unions, employers and civil society organizations - to address the challenges of youth employment and rural development. The development objective of the ILO Skills Programme is to strengthen skills development systems that improve employability, promote access to employment opportunities and increase incomes for inclusive and sustainable growth.
