Promotion of apprenticeships is a high priority for the tripartite constituents in India and the ILO. The Employers Federation of India (EFI), Mumbai, organized a discussion on apprenticeships on 28 July 2016, to discuss a potential pilot programme on SMEs in partnership with an industry association and ILO. Participants included representatives of National and State Government of Maharashtra, regional boards of apprenticeships, EFI member industry associations of small and medium enterprises, ILO and other relevant partners.
