National Consultative Workshop on Developing Trade Union Strategies for Inclusion of Vulnerable Women Workers

A two-day consultative workshop to be held for women trade unionists with an aim to identify trade union initiatives and develop strategies for the inclusion and mainstreaming of vulnerable women workers and the issues faced by them.

The ACTRAV/ Norway Project “Trade Unions for Social Justice”, is conducting a two- day consultative workshop on ‘Developing Trade Union Strategies for the Inclusion of Vulnerable Women Workers’ with the aim to identify initiatives and develop strategies for the inclusion and mainstreaming of vulnerable women workers. The workshop will focus on the ILO C.189 Domestic Workers Convention and provide orientation for the promotion of its ratification. It will include participation of local level women trade unionists and national women trade union leaders. The programme will lead to the development of an agenda for follow- up which will form part of JAF activities in 2016. Sessions on relevant national labour law, C. 189, Sexual Harassment of women at the workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 will be conducted.
