In a recent meeting, the NSC decided to organize a national workshop for experience sharing on the implementation of the National Policy on HIV/AIDS in the world of work and to implement a communication campaign with a focus on eliminating HIV related discrimination in workplaces - one of the key principles of the policy. The campaign is linked with the ILO’s global campaign: “Getting to Zero at work”.
The Objectives of the Workshop:
- To share experiences on the implementation of National policy on HIV/AIDS in the world of work and generate ideas for effective implementation of the policy in the fourth phase of the National AIDS Control programme (NACP-IV).
- To launch the “Getting to Zero at work” Campaign, present the campaign plan and generate idea and support for effective implementation of the campaign in India.
Participants would include MOLE, NACO, employers’ and workers’ organizations, enterprises, NACO, selected State AIDS Control Societies, state labour departments, PLHIV networks, and UN agencies/NGOs.
Apart from the key officials from MOLE and NACO, the seminar is likely to be attended by Ms. Alice Ouegrado, Director, ILO/AIDS Geneva.
